Service Costs

You have the ability to add costs to services, as well as set some basic parameters to automate the costing process.


Simple cost with no parameters.  

This is a cost that we want applied anytime the service is used and is the most straightforward.  To get started, open the service record and click Add Cost:



Since this cost will be applied to every trip, leave the cost parameters blank:



Fill out the Cost Details section the same way you would when adding a cost to a trip, click Save:



Now you’ll find the service cost listed:


Now, we can add our service to a trip:



The cost will automatically be added as well:




Updating Service Costs


To edit our original service cost, from the Service record, we can select the green edit button in the list item:



We can decide whether or not to update costs already applied to existing trips.  In this example, we will update trips with an ‘Active’ status:




We can make any changes required and then click Save:



Since our previous trip had an ‘Active’ status, the cost item is automatically updated:



Editing Service Costs once they are added to a trip.


You’ll notice that when service costs are added to a trip, you are unable to edit them:



If you do need to edit a service cost for a particular trip, similar to service descriptions you need to append the service first:



This breaks the link to the underlying service, so any future edits on the original service cost will not affect this particular trip's cost.
