Service Costs: Min/Max PAX and To/From Date

Modified on Fri, 9 Aug at 1:49 PM

Understanding and utilizing the advanced features within the Oasis Travel Platform can greatly enhance your ability to manage service costs. These features allow you to set costs that are automatically applied based on specific criteria, such as the number of passengers (PAX) or the travel dates.

Advanced Features Overview

The advanced features give you the flexibility to add costs to services in a more targeted way. Instead of a one-size-fits-all approach, you can specify costs that only apply under certain conditions. This could be based on the number of passengers (Min/Max PAX) or specific date ranges (To/From Dates), making it easier to manage different pricing tiers, such as those for varying group sizes or seasonal rates.

Using Min/Max PAX

Setting up costs based on the number of passengers is a common need for many travel services. You can charge different prices depending on the group size, whether it’s a small group of 2 people or a large group of 50.

Creating Service Costs for Different PAX Levels

  • Start by opening the service record and navigate to the cost parameters. Here, you'll set the conditions for your first cost—applicable for a specific range of passengers, such as up to 5 passengers, or any range you choose.

Applying the Correct Cost Based on PAX

  • When you add the service to a trip, the platform automatically applies the correct cost based on the current total PAX. For example, if the trip is set for a total PAX of 1, only the cost for up to 5 PAX will be applied.

Updating the Cost as PAX Changes

  • If you update the total PAX for the trip to 10, the platform will automatically remove the previous cost and apply the correct one for larger groups. This seamless adjustment ensures that your pricing remains accurate, regardless of changes in the group size.

Using To/From Date

Managing seasonal pricing is another crucial aspect of service cost management. By setting up costs based on specific date ranges, you can ensure that your pricing aligns with peak and off-peak seasons, promotional periods, or other time-sensitive factors.

Setting Up Seasonal Rates

  • In the service record, use the To/From Date parameters to set up costs for different years or seasons. For instance, you might create one cost for services in 2023 and another for 2024, ensuring that the correct rate is applied based on the trip’s start date.

Automatic Application of Seasonal Costs

  • When the trip start date falls within a specific date range, the platform will automatically apply the correct seasonal cost. For example, if the trip is scheduled for the summer of 2024, the 2023 rate will be removed, and the 2024 rate will be applied.

Maximizing the Impact of These Features

By leveraging these advanced features, you can create a more dynamic and responsive pricing structure that reflects the true value of your services. Whether adjusting costs based on the number of travelers or the season, these tools help you offer competitive and fair pricing to your clients.
