How to Configure Your DNS to Use a Custom Domain (cPanel) - GoDaddy

Modified on Fri, 25 Mar, 2022 at 10:14 AM

Add a subdomain record to your DNS zone file when your domain is using GoDaddy nameservers. Subdomains use a domain prefix, such as trips.yourdomain.com, as an A record to point to an IP address. To add a subdomain that points to a domain name, you'll need to add a CNAME record.

  1. Log in to your GoDaddy Domain Control Center. (Need help logging in? Find your username or password.)
  2. Select your domain to access the Domain Settings page.
    select domain
  3. Select Manage DNS under Additional Settings.
  4. Select Add to add a new record.
    select add new record
  5. Select A from the Type menu options.
  6. Enter the details for your new subdomain A record:
    • Name: Decide which subdomain you would like to use, in this example the subdomain is "trips", so Name should be trips.yourdomain.com.
    • Value: The IP address for your subdomain. This will usually be the IP address of your hosting account. The Address should be 74.124.194.40 (this is the Oasis server IP address)
    • TTL: How long the server should cache information. The default setting is 1 hour.
  7. Select Add Record to save your new subdomain A record.

Most DNS updates take effect within an hour, but could take up to 48 hours to update globally.

8. Notify Support

Notify Oasis Support (support@myoasisapp.com) of your new subdomain that you would like to use for all public pages (eg. trip itineraries, confirmations, etc). Our support team will do the following:

  1. Configure your company's account to use the subdomain
  2. Set-up a SSL certificate for your subdomain on our servers
